Become a Soccer Referee

Youth soccer referee speaking to players on the field

Are you looking for a rewarding way to stay involved in the beautiful game? The Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA) is looking for new referees! Referees make organized soccer possible. From grassroots matches to elite competitions, referees create the structure that allows the game to be played safely, fairly, and with respect. They support players, coaches, and teams by applying the Laws of the Game consistently so everyone can focus on playing and competing.

If you love soccer and want to stay connected to the game in a meaningful way, refereeing is a powerful way to contribute while continuing to grow personally and professionally.

How refereeing benefits you

  • Earn competitive pay with a flexible part-time schedule
  • Build leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Stay physically, mentally, and socially active
  • Develop confidence under pressure
  • Create pathways to higher levels, including the Canadian Premier League, CONCACAF, and FIFA
